ABOUT

‘Little Bird’ is a producer of innovative, beautiful Textiles .Creating designs and textiles for Fashion, Furnishing and Home accessories. We are constantly evolving and developing ideas in order to create New Collections and products that are both unique and desirable.

Deriving inspiration from a variety of areas including Tribal and Folkloric pieces. Landscape and Nature has a particular resonance for designer Gabi Bolton. Not only through visual exploration ,but also as a metaphor for growth and continuity, something which is very much at the core of the Little bird ethos.
Often a very simple motif is the starting point for experimentation with colours and shapes. The layering and repetition of motifs creates rhythm and is a key element within the work of Little bird.

Original Little bird designs are the result of years of absorbing images and patterns ,both manmade and natural. Through observation, drawing and photography the resulting images are a synthesis of these experiences and have allowed the formation of a personal style, one that is not limited by the seasonal changes demanded by the Design industry. Original Little bird designs have a thread that connects them, whether that is a motif or a colour, the collections share a language that is as individual as handwriting.
Our prints are either digitally or screen printed onto linen, cotton and silk and then handmade into various items from bags and shawls to cushions, aprons and greetings cards. (We may not have all of these items for you to see at any one time,) but you will always be able to find unique and beautiful patterns to tempt you.

Commissions. Gabi Bolton is interested in collaborating on projects for both Fashion and Interiors . Approaching all projects with enthusiasm and aiming to explore the visual potential of pattern in order to create the most imaginative solutions from the simplest of concepts.
